Cultural and Historical Tourism at Tegowangi Temple, Kediri

I first visited Tegowangi Temple in 2008 with my family when I was a child. The trip to the temple was quite easy because it is easy to reach. When we arrived, The temple area is quite large. Nearby, there is also a field and a gazebo where we can relax. We spent our time taking photos and enjoying the atmosphere. Additionally, Tegowangi Temple often presents performances, including an annual event called “Inspiration Art of Tegowangi.” Tegowangi Temple is located in Tegowangi Village, Plemahan, Kediri. This temple is one of the historical relics that is estimated to have been built during the Majapahit Kingdom in the 14th century. This temple is believed to be related to a figure named Bhre Matahun, one of the nobles during the Majapahit era. The function of this temple is as a place of prayer, namely a place to honor the spirits of important figures who have passed away.
